Global Journal of Obesity, Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome   Editorial   Shaping Immune Responses by Dysregulatedadipokinesin Obesity   Obesity inhibits MHCII expression on macrophages and lowers the percentage of T cells in lymph nodes and spleen. A, a representative flow cytometric staining of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in lymph nodes (LNs) from mice with normal-fat diet (NF) or high-fat diet (HF). B, average percentage of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in LNs and spleen from LF or HF mice. C, flow cytometric analysis of MHCII expression on macrophages in bone marrow (BM) from NF or HF mice. D, mean fluorescent intensity (MFI) of MHCII expression on macrophages in BM from NF or HF mice (*, p<0.05; **, p<0.01 as compared to NF group).   http://www.peertechz.com/Obesity-Diabetes-Metabolic-Syndrome/GJODMS-1-106.php

Global Journal of Anesthesiology   Editorial   Combined Techniques in Difficult Airway Management   Difficult or failed tracheal intubation is an important cause of mortality and morbidity. Approximately 30% of anesthesia-related deaths are caused by the complications of difficult airway management. Also, 85% of respiratory complications result in brain damage or death [1]. Awake tracheal intubation is the most appropriate method for protection of airway reflexes in patients, who are expected or known to have difficult intubation. However, the use of video laryngoscope in awake patients in a way similar to the use of classic direct laryngoscope, which requires hanging of epiglottis or the use of fiber optic bronchoscope through nose, disturbs patients and complicates the procedure by causing gag reflex and mucosal bleeding.    http://www.peertechz.com/Anesthesiology/GJA-1-106.php

Global Journal of Anesthesiology       Editorial   "Cannot ventilate cannot Intubate" Newborns  Difficult airway is defined as the clinical situation in which a trained anesthesiologist experiences difficulty with mask ventilation, difficulty with tracheal intubation, or both [1]. There is very little data on failed intubation in newborns and infants [2]. Surgical cricothyroidotomy is not recommended in pediatric patients due to the small size of the cricothyroid membrane [3].    http://www.peertechz.com/Anesthesiology/GJA-1-105.php

Journal of Novel Physiotherapy and Physical Rehabilitation   Research Article    Heart Rate and Perceptual Responses to Graded Leg and Arm Ergometry in Healthy College-Aged Saudis: Effects of Gender and Exercise Mode   Heart rate response to graded arm and leg exercise testing in Saudi males and females. Only exercise periods (min) where all subjects were able to achieve are included. Tests of between subject effects for gender differences at min 2 through 12 were all significant at p < 0.001.   http://www.peertechz.com/Novel-Physiotherapy-Physical-Rehabilitation/JNPPR-1-111.php

Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology     Editorial   Exercise Echocardiography in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy   On the left, resting and peak exercise images in the 4- and 2-chamber apical views in a patient with HCM and dyspnea during physical effort, at diastole (D) and end-systole (S). Note the reduction of LV cavity with exercise in this patient. LV ejection fraction increased from 64 to 72%. On the right, color and continuous wave Doppler images at rest and at exercise. Note the exercise-induced LV outflow tract obstruction and accompanying mild-to-moderate mitral regurgitation, both due to systolic anterior motion of the mitral valve.  http://www.peertechz.com/Cardiovascular-Medicine-Cardiology/JCMC-1-109.php

Global Journal of Cancer Therapy   Review Article   Genetic Polymorphisms and Cisplatin- Related Nephrotoxicity   Abstract: Cisplatin is one of the most widely applied antineoplastic agents used to treat different types of solid tumours. However, its use is limited by serious side- effects including nephrotoxicity. Cisplatin accumulates in proximal tubule and forms nephrotoxins that causes proximal cell injury and thereby leads to nephrotoxicity. Cisplatin enters these proximal cells by organic transporter molecules (OCT). Genetic polymorphism of these molecules and other membrane transport proteins that regulate cisplatin accumulation may influence cisplatin- related nephrotoxic outcome. Variations of DNA repair enzymes, e.g., ERCC1, eIF3, MMS 19L, and metabolic enzymes involved in platinum detoxification, e.g., GSTT1, GSTM1 may also have important role in the generation of nephrotoxicity. Polymorphisms of these genes can be used as predictive tools for su
