Treatment of Ankyloglosia with Coblation Assisted Surgery

Archives of Otolaryngology and Rhinology Case Report Ankyloglossia is a disease characterized by difficulty in breast-feeding, limitation of tongue, and speech disorders. Prevalence of the disease is %1-10 in the literature (1). Cold knife, Laser surgery, electro cautery methods are used in the surgical treatment of the disease. Coblation radiofrequency technology provides low temperature work with minimal damage to neighborhood tissues. We present a 21 years old male with ankyloglossia treated by coblation surgery in the lights of the literature. http://www.peertechz.com/Otolaryngology-Rhinology/pdf/AOR-2-117.pdf

Ameloblastoma, Human Papillomavirus, and p16- is there An Association?

Archives of Otolaryngology and Rhinology Research Article Background: The aetiology of the ameloblastoma is still unclear. Several studies have searched for the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) in ameloblastomas, however the results have been mixed. Our aim is to clarify this possible association, and to determine if p16 is a reliable surrogate marker for the presence of HPV in these tumours. http://www.peertechz.com/Otolaryngology-Rhinology/pdf/AOR-2-116.pdf

Proinflammatory Cytokines and Periodontal Disease

Journal of Dental Problems and Solutions Review Article Numerous biological procedures are strictly controlled by cell-cell interactions, which are categorized into two forms: cognate (adhesive) interactions, attained by mutual recognition between membrane-bound cell-surface molecules; and cytokine-mediated interactions [1]. http://www.peertechz.com/Dental-Problems-Solutions/pdf/JDPS-3-126.pdf

Tetrahydrobiopterin Concentrations in Normal and Coronary Artery Diseased Heart Tissue

Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiology Research Article Background: Tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) is a cofactor that plays a major role in cardiovascular health and disease. BH4 levels in the human heart have not been previously reported. Objective and Methods: Using a novel LC-MS/MS method we measured BH4 and BH2 levels in human heart tissue from subjects with (n=19) and without (n=19) coronary artery disease (CAD). http://www.peertechz.com/Cardiovascular-Medicine-Cardiology/pdf/JCMC-3-123.pdf

Editorial: Warm Welcome

Imaging Journal of Clinical and Medical Sciences Editorial An elderly male presents to orthopedic clinic with severe back pain for fifteen days. He is unable to sit or stand. The pain remains persistent even while lying supine. He also complains of nausea, anorexia and cough with blood tinged sputum since ten days. http://www.peertechz.com/Clinical-Medical-Sciences/pdf/IJCMS-3-124.pdf

Acute Myocardial Infarction on Contrast-Enhanced Computed Tomography

Imaging Journal of Clinical and Medical Sciences Clinical Image A 79-year-old man presented to our emergency department with sudden back pain. Laboratory results showed CK 2836 U/L (normal range 30-160), CK-MB 393 U/L (<25), D-dimer 1.4 μg/mL (<1), BNP 37.9 pg/mL (<19.5), cTnl 0.133ng/mL (<0.028) and electrocardiogram showed ST elevation in V1~6. Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) was suspected. http://www.peertechz.com/Clinical-Medical-Sciences/pdf/IJCMS-3-123.pdf

Klebsiella Pneumoniae Communiy-Acquired Pneumonia in a Trisomic at Omar Bongo Ondimba's Army Instruction Hospital (HIA OBO)

Imaging Journal of Clinical and Medical Sciences Case Report Klebsiella pneumoniae (Kp) respiratory tract infection is usually nosocomial. Its community-acquired form is rare and observed on specific plots. We report the case of a child, carrying two genetic defects, hospitalized for community-acquired pneumonia following severe sepsis to Kp. The evolution is favorable after ten days of hospitalization through active antibiotics on Kp. This observation demonstrates the existence, even though rare, of Kp community-acquired pneumonia and the interest of being able to think about it in the presence of a suggestive clinical picture. http://www.peertechz.com/Clinical-Medical-Sciences/pdf/IJCMS-3-125.pdf

Risks of Methadone use as Substitute Therapy for Opioid Addiction during Pregnancy and use of Clonidine as a Plausible Alternative

Journal of Addiction Medicine and Therapeutic Science Review Article Detoxification of opioid addiction during the pregnancy has been avoided since 1970 after some reports showed untoward outcome including stillbirth and acute narcotic withdrawal syndrome in neonates. It was recommended at that time to avoid detoxification until more data was collected and improved monitoring of fetal homeostasis became available. http://www.peertechz.com/Addiction-Medicine-Therapeutic-Science/pdf/JAMTS-2-113.pdf

Opportunistic Bacteria in Tonsil and Dental Plaque are Indicator for Oral Care

International Journal of Oral and Craniofacial Science Research Article Background of the study: Detection of the opportunistic microorganisms can be the indicator for the oral hygiene. However, there are many sampling sites in one subject. Context and purpose of study: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the suitable sampling site for opportunistic pathogens as an indicator of the oral hygiene. http://www.peertechz.com/Oral-Craniofacial-Science/pdf/IJOCS-2-115.pdf

Design of Peptide Models for β-Hairpins and Equilibrating Helix- Hairpin Structures

International Journal of Nanomaterials, Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine Research Article It is well established that synthetic peptides containing a centrally positioned Type-I or Type-II β-turn can form well folded peptide hairpins (1). Earlier studies from this laboratory have established that D-Pro-Xxx segments nucleate β-hairpin structures, with formation of a central Type-II β-turn (2). http://www.peertechz.com/Nanomaterials-Nanotechnology-Nanomedicine/pdf/IJNNN-2-109.pdf

A Novel Method of Selective Chromopertubation at Office Hysteroscopy

Journal of Gynecological Research and Obstetrics Research Article Introduction: Tubal dysfunction is diagnosed as an underlying cause of infertility in more than one third of cases. Laparoscopy dye is the gold standard procedure to detect tubal patency, but hysterosalpingography (HSG) and hystero-contrast-sonography (HyCoSy) is also used. http://www.peertechz.com/Gynecological-Research-Obstetrics/pdf/JGRO-2-113.pdf

Climate Smart Aquaculture: A Sustainable Approach to Increasing Fish Production in the Face of Climate Change in Nigeria

International Journal of Aquaculture and Fishery Sciences Review Article As the global population increases, demand for food, most especially protein will increase. Production from fisheries is crucial for food security in the face of current population increase. Despite the reliability on fisheries and aquaculture to supply the animal protein needed by the world population, climate change has significantly reduced production and increase instability in the sector. http://www.peertechz.com/Aquaculture-Fishery-Sciences/pdf/IJAFS-2-113.pdf
